| “Winter mountaineering
in Scotland is often a bizarre case of extremes. An early morning
walk through rain-soaked bogs to end up astride a 3000ft Arctic summit
in another world and then back down again to the clammy but welcoming
warmth of the valley. Páramo clothing takes the edges off those
extremes as it rides out the comfort bell curve (and gives me a smug
smile when I see others alternately baking and freezing as their clothing
system fails to adapt to the ride).” - James Edwards
“Since I bought my Páramo®
Cascada Jacket and Mountain shirt, I have been amazed at the difference
in my comfort ratio. However, the ultimate test came on a 3 day
walk in the Central Highlands of Scotland. By the time we had covered
our first leg the rain was horizontal and the wind was gale force.
That night the wind was recorded at 90mph and by morning it had
not abated much and it was still raining. The walk that day took
us, of course, straight into the teeth of the gale and the wind
actually knocked us to the ground on two occasions. Despite these
walks in the worst conditions I have ever experienced outside of
the Antarctic, I was never wet, and even more amazing was the fact
that despite expending so much energy and sweat, the insides of
the jacket sleeves were not even damp. What a combination!”

“I had the opportunity to try out both the Cascada
Jacket and the Reversible Shirt when my husband and I went for a
walk on the South Downs. When we started out it was cloudy and very
cold as there was a strong wind blowing. I felt so comfortable in
the jacket, which is much softer and more flexible than my previous
waterproof jacket. Usually when I have been walking for a while
and the weather improves, I find I overheat. Later in our walk the
sun came out and we were walking uphill, so I expected to have to
take off my jacket and start carrying as usual. To my surprise,
I found that, having loosened the cuffs and undone the zip and poppers,
I could keep walking without feeling too hot. The breathable properties
obviously work very well. I am impressed.”- Jacquie

“ Climbing, mountaineering and skiing all year round
in the Alps, I need a clothing system that will perform equally
well on midnight –10C starts up the route to +20C coming down
the descent in the midday sun. I don’t want to stop to take
off or put on layers and I don’t want to carry dead weight
in my bag. Páramo gear fits the bill, being light, warm,
VERY breathable and easily vented whilst on the move.”-

“Just to let you know how pleased I am about my latest garment,
a Taiga Fleece. The first time I wore it in the Lakes, it got covered
in water (I was still bone dry even with it soaked), so I put on
my Alta (Analogy®) Jacket and by the time I was
off the fells it was bone dry inside... I was well impressed.”-

“I splashed out and purchased a Taiga Fleece in May….I
was really impressed with the quality and feel of the garment. On
one trip to town I got caught in a heavy downpour and decided, as
I was wearing the fleece, to stay out in the rain and find out how
it coped. I was very impressed.” - Michael Martin
