Introducing Nikwax Directional Fabrics Analogy Waterproof Directional Fabrics
Analogy

Nikwax Analogy® Waterproofs use a combination of fabric structure and water repellency to ‘direct’ moisture away from the body and to prevent external moisture reaching you. They protect your insulation to keep you warm and dry.

Seals, otters, bears and wolves successfully keep warm in very cold, wet conditions because their water-repellent fur traps air next to the skin and directs water outwards.

Analogy® mimics the action of animal fur to push liquid water outwards, so when any water appears in the fabric through condensation or immersion, it is immediately directed outwards away from you.

Advantages over conventional waterproofs and Soft Shell:
1. Soft but very strong – Directional Waterproofs are much softer than coated or membrane based garments and yet they are just as strong.
2. Silence – No rustle or crunch as with coated or membrane fabrics – Directional Waterproofs are silent and flexible.
3. Immunity to puncture – You could fill a Directional Waterproof garment with pins, remove them and still stay dry in the rain! Puncture of the fabric won’t lead to leakage.
4. Work in high humidity – Both conventional waterproofs and Soft Shell fail in conditions of high humidity. Analogy continues to pump water away whatever the humidity.
5. Warmth – Being warm as well as waterproof means you can leave behind some of your insulation layers.
6. Renewability – The performance of Directional Waterproofs can be indefinitely renewed by caring for them with Nikwax products and they won’t crack or fracture over time.
